Question New parrot owner and hoping for some help!!

My name is Brandy and the proud Momma of an Eclectus Parrot named Baby Bird. This is the first bird I have ever owned and we sort-of inherited him. We're unsure of his exact age, but we were told it was thought that he was between 5 and 7 years old. He is definitely like a little kid and always looking for attention. We love him!!!

However, over the last few days we've noticed him sneezing a lot. I've looked around online and saw what others had to say about it. The only issue is his sneezing. He has no other symptoms. I read that sometimes when the heater is on, the air becomes dry and can irritate them as it does us humans. I don't want to be a worry-wart just yet, but we are new at this and would just like some help.

Any suggestions would be great about his sneezing. Oh, and he always rubs his beak on his cage. That seems strange to me.

Good toys for them?? Foods?? We're always open for suggestions!!!

Thank you,
Brandy and Wesley

Food. Sprouts. *NO* pellets. 15% cooked pulses. 30% cooked grains. 45% veggies. 10% fruits. Occasional cooked eggs. Supplements.
Bird Safe Fresh Foods & Toxic Food Lists + Sprouts

Red Palm Oil boughten from any health food store or online may help with the sinuses.

However, it would be a good idea to take him to an avian vet to ensure his health. That is, a full CBC panel and fecal to ensure he is healthy.

Welcome! This is such a great site. I don't know much about eclectus, but there are I'm sure plenty here that do! And don't forget that you can do searches for past topics to see if there is anything informative already talked about. I've gotten lost for hours doing that! :D
