Introduction of Me & Bernie BC Conoure

Hello and Greetings to all .
I Am Kathy and Bernie is my Blue Crown Conoure .
He is apx 5 maybe 5 1/2 years old . I have had him since august of 2008 .
Is a rescue from an abussive home .
Bernie up until New Years eve as a great happy Bird . He flew into a window hitting it very hard .
Then this Past friday Night he had a seziure and we rushed him to University of Pennsylvania Matthew J Ryan Hospital to the ER .
Not much help there but was started on medication and I nursed him all weekend until I could get to a Primary Vet On Monday .
He is in Critical condition and they are doing all they can to save him .
If he makes it he may have a disibility as he has had a stroke type of thing to cause weakness on his left side and left foot an toes .
He has been unable to eat or drink . So they tubed him to feed and have him under heat laps and strong medications .
Its a 50/50 shot Dr said and he is nto out of the woods yet .
So we are praying very hard for our little loved one to recover and come home to us to live out his life healthy & happy .

Hello Kathy and welcome to the board. Sorry to hear about your baby. I understand how frustrated, scared and upset you must be. There are alot of really nice people here who can be very supportive and offer up some wonderful advice.

I am gonna send some warm thoughts and prayers your way for your little Bernie Bird. I too have a Blue Crown Conure and know of the joys they can bring.

Please keep us posted and let us know how he is progressing.
