Post hello there everyone

I recently purchased a new member to my family. His name is Orien and he is a green rumped parrotlet. He has been at his new home for a week and a half. He seems to be getting comfotable now. I am having trouble getting him to eat anything new. he wont try vegitables, only will eat his seed. I know that he needs that nutrition in his diet, i am also trying to to get him on pellets as they have more nutrition than seed. Any tips on getting him to try new things. He will eat when i say eat good boy, but he just flips all the veggies out of his bowl. What to do?

Welcome! Congratulations on your new family member. It takes time for a bird to start eating new foods. There is a lot of information about this in the Diet & Nutrition section.

Congrats on the new baby! Matt is correct. Birds can be stubborn when it comes to change. You may want to try different shapes and sizes of veggies. Maybe try steaming them some. You could add some bird safe seasonings. Eat some of the foods yourself. Show him how good they taste. Try weaving them through the cage bars. Just keep working at it. When he finally does eat a bite, you will be amazed at how big of a deal you will feel it is.
