parrot harnesses

Hi I`m new and have registered because I saw a set of beautiful alexandrines, photographed by max young. I would like to know more about the harnesses that were attached to the birds feet.
I have an 21month old alexandrine parrot and would like to be able to take him outside in the summer. I have seen various body harnesses but never ones that attach to the feet. My husband says that he would be worried about them slipping off!!!.
I am also looking at travel cages so I can take him out.
Any advice would be appreciated thankyou.

Harnesses for the feet are not recommended because a parrots feet are not as strong as a raptors legs are, thus more chance for injury. Perhaps you might be interested in this thread?
Very Important Question!!!!!!

As for travel cages, you can use a cat carrier, a small cage, or a specifically designed parrot travel cage...

I have a harness for my Hahns Macaw called the Aviator. It's awesome and she actually doesn't mind wearing it. It's best to get them used to harnesses as young as possible. I tried another one called the feather tether and it is a sort of figure 8 shape. It tightens if the bird pulls on it and can choke the bird so I don't recommend it at all.
