Hi All

Hi my name is Kim, I live in Australia and i have just welcomed a 5 week old female Eclectus named Electra in to my family. I was hopeing someone might be able to give me advice on how may times a day we should feed her, how much she should be fed, when i should start introducing her to Fruit & Veg and how much they should weigh each week,ect..... I have her in an incubator and the temp is at 27 degrees celceus (so for any bad spelling) i have been feeding her 4 time daily 8am, 1pm, 6pm, 11pm each fed she takes inbetween 10-15mls.
Any advice you have would be very much appreciateds
Thanks Kim

Welcome! Congratulations on your new eclectus! What subspecies is she? I am not sure about hand feeding eclectus though.

All eclectus are pretty. The yellow on the tail feathers of the vosmaeri females are beautiful.

I am sorry that you had your birds stolen. Just a question. Have you hand fed a large bird before? If not you could ask your avian vet to show you how to and to help you with the amount to feed.

Hi Matt yes i fed Oscar & Serena even though they should have been weened but i got them from the same breeder who was still feeding them 2 times a day.

but with Electra she is much younger and i have no probs feeding her i just wanted to know how many time s a day how much ect.
i have hand fed ring neks , a galah, a corella and an alexandrine before.
but at the same time they were all over 8 weeks old when i got them.
