Hello everyone! I'm looking forward to posting and reading about everyones experiences in here.
My experience with birds hasn't been the best one. I admit that when I was younger we kept a "pair" of budgies which we never really figured how to tame. Eventually we moved across the country and couldn't figure out how we'd transport the birds so we gave them up. I didn't really get too attached to them since they bit me every time I tried to clean their cage.

That was 10 years ago. More recently, last year, I acquired a new budgie. (I did a lot of reading before coming to that decision). He was hand-raised, hand -tamed and about 8 to 10 weeks old when I got him. His name is Chibi.
I couldn't resist and a week after that I picked up a blue Pacific Parrotlet from a breeder friend of mine. He was the sweetest bird i had ever met. Blue pretty much changed my perception on bird keeping. Anyway I got really attached to him but he ended up dying due to multiple causes. A week after I got Blue, i got a peachfaced lovebird from the same breeder. He isn't as nice, but i'm taking my time with him.
Mind you, it was a little difficult to manage all three because i kept them in 3 different locations and 3 different cages.. Anyway after a month I introduced them to each other and they all got along surprisingly well.
2 weeks ago I got another blue pacific parrotlet. His name is Otto and he's a work in progress. He was tame when i first met him but I dont know what happened that he hasn't gotten used to his surroundings here at home. He will only step up if he's half asleep on his perch. Otherwise he would fly all over.

Please feel free to give me any suggestions or advice..

Welcome to BB! As for the taming from your second to last line I am assuming that your birds' wings are not clipped. If you believe in clipping then this might be a good place to start.

Thanks for welcoming me. Actually all my birds wings are clipped, even my latest parrotlet. Although I think the breeder didn't clip it as much because he can still fly ok maybe flutter around in his cage. either that or he just has good strong legs for bouncing off one end to another. lol.
