Hi from Melbourne, Australia! I'm a final year vet student with a keen interest in avian medicine, surgery and behaviour. I have five chickens, two budgies and a green cheeked conure.


Milly is quiet, conservative and sensible (most of the time). She wants nothing more than to have her head scratched all day. When she's not foraging, she's satisfying her endless need for head scritches- on anything including my finger, Squee, perches, toys, random objects...


Squee is inquisitive, active and loves exploring new things. You can see the curiosity and intelligence in her eyes. She's also a big captive forager and she's having a blast with our clicker training sessions.


Oz is my GCC, who I adopted just last December. We're getting to know each other but things are mostly going smoothly, between us at least. He is a silly little cuddlebug with me but unfortunately goes into man-eating velociraptor mode with other people. Clicker training is our current project and he's quite good at mimicking. Whistling (like calling the dog) when I'm not in the room, wolf whistle when I come back, various kissing noises and 'hello' are all part of his repetoire.

I also have five chickens - four from chicks and one rescued from a commercial layer production. They are Hera, Tena, Demi, Vee and Missy.

You have some beautiful birds, conures are my favorite. Congrats on your final year of school. I hope you do decide to specialize in Avian care, seems like their arent nearly enough vets that do.
