Hello New to the forum new to Green Cheek Conure

Hello all. I now have a Green cheek conure. I will probably have some silly questions but bear with me.

The first day I wasn't so sure but after the third I am at least seeing that it may not be so long before he adjusts to us and settles in. First two days we got bit a few good times. Third day nothing so that is definite improvement. I hope it continues.

is he a youngin? sometimes they go through a stage similar to babies teething when they're young... they're trying to get a feel for things using their beak since it's a sensitive tool.
over time you'll get used to his behavior and will be able to read his body language well... valo's a nippy boy, but i hardly ever get bitten

Oh yes he was just weened about a week ago. We picked him up Friday. The nippy we don't mind and the biting is usually associated with something he doesn't like. When we first met him he loved being turned on his back but now he doesn't. His brothers (we assume all of them are male for no reason but that we kind of wanted a male. LOL) were like that when we met them. I am wondering if that doesn't have something to do with his wings being clipped the day we got him. I wonder if they aren't a little sensitive either in feeling or about the experience and lack of control he now has to endure. I am personally not a fan of wing clipping and wouldn't have requested it. The breeder does it before she places all of her babies and encourages at least when you first get them that their wings be clipped to help with the settling in and bonding time. Anyway by the third day all we got was normal beaking which I am ok with it was those snap down and then squeeze harder and harder bites that make you question your decision. LOL.
