Talking Hello there!

Okay a little about me. I was raised in the south so sometimes I do have a big mouth. I often come off "gruff" or mean and that is not my intention, I just tell it like it is (or how I feel). If feelings get hurt I will apologize to keep the peace as I am not about drama and certainly not on the internet. **If you are easily offended do not read further** If I hurt someones feelings I will usually apologize in order to keep the peace. With so many different personalities and not being able to "see" the person there will be things said that some take the wrong way. I am not here looking for my BFF I am here to gain and share knowledge.

All that being said.....

I am of "advanced" age I have a 2 yr old son that will be 3 in a month (his adjusted age seeing as he was premature). I live in the land of snow, mud and bugs however this yr we've added floods into the mixture. Some ppl refer to it as ND I have been here just under 4 very looooooong yrs. I come from Texas which will always be home.

I have a peach faced lovebird, congo african grey, umbrella cockatoo and fostering (she goes back this weekend though and I feel bad its like Im leaving a relationship) sulpher crested. We also have 2 snakes, 2 dogs and 5 horses (3 buckskins, 1 arabian,1 paint) looking to get a 6th and final horse this summer if we dry out enough. We have some cattle also which I dont do anything with Im not a farmer or rancher and I dont have cars/trucks up on cement blocks on my property

Anything else you want to know just ask. But do not be shocked or offended by my answer

Hello MMR!!

I have had my peachface since Aug of 07 he was actually a gift for my daughter (we had some parakeets before him which were not tame and she couldnt interact with) however they never met seeing as he was bought for her during her last hospital admission and she never came home

My CAG since Feb of 08 he was a valentines day gift from my hubby he (the bird) was supposed to be a baby U2 but somehow I ended up with a CAG (long story) now the bird hates my husband and this is the bird my husband chose

My U2 came to me in an unexpected way. She was my dream bird for many yrs but seeing as my daughter was ill (then later in life terminally ill) I couldnt have "dander" birds or high maintance birds seeing as she required so much care and had really bad asthmia, lung disease ect. Anyhow (that was me rambling) Lacey is 10 (or 11) she came to me after working with a breeder for a baby fell through and the rescue revised their "guidelines of who could adopt"(distance and the fact I had a small child prevented me from doing so prior to their revising of guidelines) anyway she has been with me since only Jan of this yr and I cant imagine my life without her

Devil bird.. I mean the sulpher came to me April 6th(?) which was my offical adoption day of my U2. She has been with me I guess 6 weeks worth of attacks, lunges, and aggression towards not just adults but my son. And though it hurts to have to let her go back my son's safety is most important and that is why I must return her. I feel so bad about it but only way to insure his, ours and our guests safety is to keep her in her cage and I cant do that either would be like locking my toddler in a play pen telling him he cant come out.

I see you have a mollucan U2 hybrid how big is she? Whats her coloration like? The rescue has a M2 up for adoption she was actually in her "forever home" for 2 yrs but has since started to attack females and even bit the owner through the top of her big toenail all the way through so she is being returned and the resuce hopes to do some "behavior modification" if they can not then they will have to send her to a sancturay..

hey is there spell check on this thing?!

Sorryt o hear about your daughter. Yes Ellie is a hybrid, but I think MANY generations later. You can barely see it in person. When I first rescued her I thought I was seeing things. But the vet affirmed me that it was there. She has sooooo very faint pint on her "shoulder" area, that is it!

she also since adopting my Macaw has become a terribl bitter. I used to be able to do and take her anywhere, but now I don't hold her due to some pretty bad bites. But we still play and out of cage time, along with many hugs and scritches, just no carrying her around! She actually is a remarkable bird as we had a house fire 2 motnhs agoi and she was stuck in a smoke filled house for 30 minutes. She came out black/greay. The vet & everyone I know all say she should be alive...that just gores to show you her little fighting too personality!
