Hi Jojee. There are lots of parrots out there and different people like different species for various reasons. What are you looking for? Small, medium, or large sized parrot? What is your noise tolerance? And do you have close neighbors that might object to screeching? Do you like an active bird, or prefer one that is more laid-back?

If you tell us a little more about what you're hoping to find in a parrot, we can make suggestions. Otherwise, it's just like pulling a name out of a hat.

Hi, welcome. Ditto what Reta said. There are so many different types of parrots we need a bit more info on what you are looking for in a bird!

Hi and welcome to BB!!!! I am also from Georgia, near the Macon area. Hope you enjoy your stay here on bb. Tons of advice and good times. Once again, if you could let us know what you are looking for everyone can be of more help on suggestions for a new family member.

If you've never owned a bird before, I would highly recommend a cockatiel. They have every bit of a large parrot personality in a small package. We even had one once who talked. Please keep in mind cockatiels are powder down birds and if you have asthma this may not be a good option for you.

Welcome to Bird Board! A bit more information on your criteria might help. Also if you have any experience with parrots.
