Love Brids

I purchased two beautiful love birds about 6 months ago. The had just started eating on their own and were hand fed and raised birds. Just recently one of then started biting. The other one is fine, loves to eat from my hands and loves to give kisses.

What would cause my other bird to bite? It sometimes also fluffs up its feathers and makes like gestures.

Welcome to Bird Board! Your bird sounds too young to be hormonal but he/she could be testing you. Also, if the biting happens in the cage it could be territoral biting.

Hi and welcome, do not worry about the biting bird - focus on training in a positive way without reacting to the bite and you will be surprised at what a great relationship you can develop.

Looking forward to hearing more...
