Red face New Keet on the stick.

Hello I am Melissa Schmidt. We all live on Camano Island,WA.
Here is the story of my adventure.
It all started on a dark and stormy night over the new years holiday. A neighbors home caught on fire due to a bunch of fireworks. The homeowner had some birds that belonged to her daughter so I offered my home to shelter the birds while the smoke cleared. Well the daughter gave the birds to us and so me knowing nothing about them did a crash coarse on them. I got some basic know how to keep the Keets. I named them George and Gracie.
Well one day I woke up to uncover the birds and found Gracie dead on the bottom of the cage. I believe it was the cause of non stick cookware that caused her death. She came to our care sick already.
So I cleaned out the cage really well and took everything out of it and replaced some of the things but kept the thing that Gracie was found dead on out.

I was broken heart about it and really beat myself up on it. Well one day we were at the auto insurance place and this lady who was our agent said she had a lone female cause her mate had died a few months ago. So she gave her to us to keep George and the lone female company. I believe that everyone needs a buddy.

I quarantined the two for some time then I introduced the two and they hit it off big time...they were mating before you knew it. I have never seen George and Gracie mate at all. I did rename the lone female Jules ( after Julie London). Jules taught George a few things about the art of love. Pretty soon Jules started to lay eggs. The first clutch she did have was not fertile but the second clutch she laid resulted in three hatchlings. So pretty babies and I was so amazed on how tiny the eggs were. Size of Jelly Beans.
Now they are grown up I think anyways and so amazing as all get out!
Now she laid three more eggs... I don't have the heart to take them away from her.

I also have other pets here as well, 3 Russian Tortoises - one female(Echo) 2 males( Tonka and Radar) one male Hermanns Tortoise(Flash) 5 Red Eared Sliders- 3 females( Precious,Tess and Phoebe) and two males-(Rocky and Jack Sparrow)
a male black lab/shepard mix dog(Nello), a part time cat, a mess of Gold fish. So that is our micro zoo in a nut shell.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I gots to agree with Red192... this is about the first thing I checked too. The reason I came to be here is finding out information about the Swiffer Mop system and to find out if it is safe for my Feathered buds. This site looks great and I am finding a lot of good information here.
