Never got to introduce myself, but hey!

Hey, I'm new here. I don't have any indoor pet birds, though I do have 12 chickens


I have a 2 dogs named sparky and rose
2 cats, figaro and vannessa
1 rabbit, bugsy
12 chickens, all with names, but to busy to name em' all.

I am from tx, Brazos County.

I'm 13 and loveee animals, art, and irish dancing, also my friends and family. :)

Oh, and i'm looking to get my first bird soon. :P

haii, i think its a little late for your "welcome" to BB, you've been here for awhile now :P But, welcome, i guess, anyways. :D

Have you had much luck with choosing a bird?

I think you'd love a GCC, but you'd also fall in love with a teil or a budgie! you just need to narrow your list of possible birds down and *research research research* visit some of the ones you're interested in, if you can... Try and figure out which type of bird will fit in with your family and lifestyle.. and really think about how much time a day you have to spend with any bird - they don't understand excuses, so "i was busy doing something else" isn't a good one.

If i remember correctely, you said you won't have much time to spend with your birds.. between school, and something else, dance, did you say?? I'd really look into getting a pair of birds, and then work on taming them. it might be hard - but then they'd hve each other for company when you're not around. :)

I agree with Emily - if you don't think you'll have time to keep your babies social just by yourself I think a pair would be a great idea. Birds are social creatures and need lots of attention. I only have 2 and they take up all of my time!!! Some people will say that two birds cant be tamed, not true. As long as they are both getting sufficient time with you and this happens more than once daily, it can be done.
