I dont have a bird yet, however; I do intend on buying a Blue and Gold male and female. Those Birds are so majestic!!!! I'm going to the ATL this weekend to the bird fair maybe to buy. Does anyone know anything about Bird Shows kind of like Dog shows?

Welcome to BB. I use to live in GA. I hope you enjoy this site. I do not know if Bird show are like Dog shows. We do not have alot of them in Maryland. BGM's are very pretty. You must have experience with large birds. I don't think I could handle a pair of them. The beaks are a little to big for me lol. Good luck.

Ya you really need to know what you are doin to handle larger birds. It breaks my heart when people call the pet shop i work out wanting to sale large bids because they just didnt know what they where gettin into. We are very particular who we sale our large birds to. I myself am afraid of them. i can handle them but I could never own one.

There are Bird Shows, then there are Bird Expos. Bird Shows are usually like Dog Shows (show off animals, and choose the one who has the best qualities of it's breed/species/color), but a Bird Expo is usually a place where breeders gather in one building to sell animals, toys, cages, food, etc. The words "expo" and "show" can be interchangeable, though...

I've done a lot of rerading onthe subject of owning a Blue and Gold and I know that it takes a lot of will. They scream, bite (HARD), and are always going to have the "Wild animal" in them. Its a dream of mine to breed them though. I almost got my hands on one but than got screwed out of it. Thats what made me fall in love with them.
