Wink Hello from Brooklyn, NYC!

Hi, I'm Pat!
I finally decided to join Birdboard after about two months of lurking to glean information on pretty much every aspect of parrotlet ownership. Lurking gets boring fast.

I recently brought home a blue female Pacific Parrotlet (Phoebe) who so far has been an absolute sweetheart. After a week of training with millet, she does step ups/ladders with ease and will fly directly to me when her cage door is left open. She hides in my hair and tweets into my ear. I think my next goal will be to teach her to fly 'home' to her cage when prompted.

She's learning much quicker than I anticipated and I an absolutely thrilled to see her respond to my attention and affection.

Looking forward to meeting other bird owners on the board!

Welcome! I am new to the board and already have learned so much and met really great people. It is a great place to learn and also share your birdie stories, pictures, and antics without having people stare at you and think you are a crazy bird lady. We are all crazy bird ladies/men but we love it that way ;-)

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I absolutely will post pictures, Kelly... just need to actually catch her being cooperative for the camera. ;)

I agree Chinnie, it's nice to find a place to talk about birds where no one thinks you're loopy for going on about how great your feathered baby is. I have to stifle the urge to talk too much about her to my friends so they don't think I'm nuts.

Welcome. I'm a fellow New York State person but not a New Yorker. I'm the upstate variety. It's great to have you and Phoebe out here with us.

Brooklyn is the greatest.
