Hello! My name is Emily. I am 18 and I live in Fenton, MI. I am a freshman in college, studying biology. I plan on becoming a veterinarian. I fell in love with birds when I was 7. We were at a pet store and there were a couple, large, gorgeous parrots, an African Grey and a scarlet macaw. I was talking to the African Grey and to my surprise, he talked back! I have never owned a bird before, the closest I ever got to it was when a fancy looking pigeon landed on my roof and my mom told me that I could keep it if I could catch it. I was going to get a quaker parrot or other entry level parrot this year, but I found a kitten and my parents will not let me get another animal, so I have to wait until after I move out of my parents' house, which won't happen for a few more years, but I am looking forward to it. I am hoping to learn as much as I can about birds before I bring one home so I can make sure I am the right kind of home for the bird I get.
