Hello everyone

Hi all. I'm not new to fids but new to here. I'm presently owned by a Conure-Coowee, M2-Tut, U2-Kyu, Scarlet-Sysko, Dove-Roxie, Cat-B.C., and Mutt-Porsche. Plans are in the works to build an outdoor avairy. But for now they get to stay inside where it's cool.

He's a quaker. He's 4 y.o. (?) and pretty good. I have had 3 quakers. My first one died as a result from another bird's aggression. Another one was a rescue that died of old age. Coowee was a gift from my nephew. He couldn't take him to college. Hopefully I'll be getting into the pictures soon I'm still learning this new thing called a computer. :aiwebs_01

Quakers aren't known as conures (i.e. quaker conure) but rather as a quaker parrot (different type of parrot basically). Quakers, essentially, are conures, as aratinga conures are 'mini macaws'. However, it would be far easier just to call him a quaker rather than a conure!

Sounds like a great little family there!

I think quakers have more different names than any other. Monk parrot, Q. parrot, Q. conure, Q. parrakeet, M. parrakeet. I just call mine Coowee. :icon_mrgr
