RE Lories

Hello Jim,
I have back lories. They are the most delightful and loving bird I have ever had. They love to be with you and their antics are so amusing. my husband and I just sit and howl at some of the things they do. They are getting harder to find here in Canada. What do you feed your lory? I know a lot are trying pellets but I have never used them.Nice to chat to someone with lories.

Hi Pudel, nice to hear from you. I dont feed pellets to my Lories, they are fed a home made mix plus a shop bought one called necterblend. Ialso feed them diluted honey, also choped up fruit and veg. on top they are given daily Quicko rearing food which is a Dutch product. Allmy birds are kept outside nice to hear from you Jim

Thumbs up

Hello

I'm a Belgium loribreeder, and my friend from the Netherlands (Peter De Wilde), is now 1 year busy to make a European loribreederslist.
At the moment we have 287 breeders of whole Europ. Includding some great birdparks and zoo's, Loro Parque, Walsrode, zoo Praque,...
On the list comes only your name and the species you have, and howmany.
No adresses or thelephonenumbers are on the list, and if you don't want your emailadress that's also possibel.
The reason of this list is to work together so we still can make unrelated pairs, to save the lories in captivety, because for many species it's already to late.
Now we have a better idea which species are really rare.
So if you want to join the list you can contact me.
And I will send it to Peter.
The list will be send (by email) every 2 weeks.
Only the members of the list will get the list, this is for protection of the breeders with rare species.
I don't know if I may place a link but this the website from the european loribreeders, but still under construction.
