Question burrowing

I've just noticed lately that monty has been burrowing at the bottom of his cage in his hay.. Im not sure what it means can anybody help me out.. He has been doin quite often not sure why?

I would take him to the vet to have it checked out. My TAG started doing this & it turns out he was sick.
I'm not suggesting that he has what my bird had, but in the future I will err on the side of caution. Behavioral changes can suggest illness.

Lol..Hes just playing and having fun, Monkey and Frenchy LOVE to burrow in shredded paper, and alfalfa hay...if there isnt any signs of illness like loss of apetite, change in mood or any other behavior that is out of the ordinary then hes fine. Lories/Lorikeets do some weird things lol.

My little Budgie, Itsy, does this every once in awhile too. She seems perfectly fine otherwise. I always figured it was some sort of a nesting instinct. She shreds her newspapers in the bottom of the cage and pulls up some of the other paper and burrows under it all and keeps busy busy and this usually goes on for about a week and then it doesn't happen again for several months. She is eating well and socializing and flying around as usual.

Yeah im guessin that's it just nesting.. SHe's fit and active.. I swear she has adhd.. Her mental bursts of fits she has.. Its insane
