Hi, i got a lorikeet of a friend of mine i think its a boy not sure,I have had the bird for 1 month and i took him to the vet and had his wings clipped,the vet thinks he is a young bird i think he is about 1 and a half year old,the blue on his head is dull same with his lower body but it is geting darker lately,the bird is very tame love to come out of his cage and sit on my shoulder licking my hair and grooming him self but he hates to be scratched can any-one tell me the best way to get the bird to like scratches,I am the main person who looks after him,my mum and partner want hold him only me but when they go next to him in the cage he get very excited fluffs up talks,whistles,eyes are pinned but he want do that for me, and when he is like that i can scratch him can any-one tell me why that is.I think it is mating season because the last two days he has been griping very hard to my hand and rubbing him self on me and i was wondering if that is a reason for him to be geting excited for females is it the time of the year...Sorry about all the question but i am new to owning a rainbow lorikeet..THANK_YOU MICK!!!!:
