Travelling

Hey there. So I am travelling to my parents place for my birthday in a couple of weeks and I want to take my lory, Diz, with me. Problem is... their place is 6 hours drive from here.

What is the best way to travel with Diz in the car? He is still young and doesnt seem to get stressed easily.

I bought a travel cage from Avian Adventures. It is small enough to travel with but big enough that my Dave could live comfortably in and out (the handle is a cage top perch) of it for a week. They say it is light. I suppose compared to a big cage but I still wouldn't call it light. I love the cage. Since Dave won't wear a harness (yet) it has allowed me to take him places so that I can have him with me. It was also useful when we went to the vets. Here is a link to one ad for it: Poquito Avian Hotel Travel Bird Cage By Avian Adventures

Sorry if I'm too late ^__^ but all you need is a travel cage with a perch and a towel on the bottom (so he can choose to perch or nestle), thick, unspillable nectar mix, half an orange for energy and hydration and some water if possible (if it won't spill). My lorikeet loves car rides ;)
