Goldenfeast Pollen Rich Nectar?

In my quest to find lory food that does not contain gluten, amazingly, I finally found one! Goldenfeast makes a pollen rich nectar mostly composed of soy flour and lots of powdered fruits and veggies, plus probiotics. It has wheat grass in it but I came to discover through research that wheat grass does not contain gluten, only the wheat "berry" or grain. It looks a million times better than the Avico Lory Life Powder that I am currently feeding with more natural ingredients and less fillers. It's about twice the price but worth everyone's health IMHO.

Does anyone here have experience with Goldenfeast pollen rich?

Hiya Anna. I have not tried Ayla on the Nectargold Pollen Rich, but she had done very well on Goldenfeast Nectargold. When it ran out, I tried another brand -- due to my own exhaustion I didn't seek out the best -- and have been dissatisfied with it. When the attacks started, I took her off that other food, just having a bad feeling about it. I think I will order the pollen rich variety today, as I am not sure that she is getting all of the nutrients she needs. My other birds get pollen mixed in with their food -- they all get size appropriate Dr Harvey's, combined with TOPS (Totally Organic Pellets), although a couple of my birds refuse those pellets.

Thanks for the feedback Holly. We have started feeding the pollen rich but our birds (who are onlt used to avico) are not thrilled. I have been mixing it with their old powder for now until they get used to it, but I think the color and texture change is throwing them off a bit. Don't blame them but it looks like it will be a slow weaning process.

One more thing - sometimes lories get aggressive when they aren't getting enough food. Most birds can become a bit food aggressive but I have noticed that lories seem to become more people aggressive when they aren't getting enough.

I don't think that Ayla's aggression is about not enough food. She has actually become a bit overweight, and I thing it is tied in to the food that I took her off of. She's not very picky about the color or texture of her liquid nectar food. I mix a variety of organic vegetable and fruit juices with certain jarred organic baby foods.
