Just heard from the breeder!

Well, i am currently waiting on a pair of black caps to get on and lay me a baby I've just heard from the breeder that he has witnessed them mating and he will let me know as soon as he has some eggs!

He did also mention that he has a pair of yellow bibs that layed in feb and produced 2 chicks, but sadly killed them at 2 weeks But he thinks they will be going down again soon, so i may well have a choice of yellow bib or black cap!

Exciting times! Fingers crossed at least one pair gets themselves sorted

Sounds exciting! I hope you get your baby. :) If I had a choice between the two species I would personally pick the Black Cap (larger and I just like the appearance more), but I think either one are great.

I too am getting a new lorikeet soon. After this one I eventually want to get a Black Cap.

I hope that they are not killed before they can be pulled for handfeeding. Best of luck!
