Age of black caps
I have a pair of black capped lory's..And they both have white skin around there eyes..But i have seen alot of pic's of these parrots and they all have black skin around their eyes..Does the black skin mean they are mature? Like 4 to 5 years of age? I know mine are just over 2 years of age..

This applies to Rainbow Lorikeets so I think it's likely to apply to Black Capped Lories too. The black skin is what happens to birds who spend a lot of time outdoors... kind of a suntan. You will notice all wild lorikeets have black skin while most indoor pets have grey skin.
My lorikeet had grey skin because he was mostly an indoor bird. Once I took him camping for two weeks which turned the skin around his eye a lot darker (not quite black). I was so proud of him, hahaha.
