Another sort of gross poop question...

Hi guys,
Previously I had been feeding my lorikeets a wet mix everyday, but over summer it was impractical because of bacteria, so I started feeding the same brand dry. Much to my great surprise, they like it just as much (and Keiko likes it better).
When I was feeding them the wet mix, their poop didn't smell at all, even if I found one around the house that had been missed on clean up.
Now, their poo smells, especially the big one they greet the morning with. It also appears ever so slightly more solid.
Besides that, nothing else has changed, they are healthy and active, I'm still giving them the same fruit and veg etc.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? I would have thought that if anything the poo would have stunk with a wet mix, not the other way round. I thought of changing back to the wet mix to see if it stopped smelling but I don't really want to chop and change them too much and I don't want to disapoint Keeks.

I don't feed much in the way of wet mix. I put the dry next to the water and my guys make up their own slurry. They get the Vetafarm blossom mix in with their fruit and veg.

Reason for smell could be that it's more concentrated with being on dry. I think it's worth experimenting though. I've always offered both dry and wet at the same time when Pip and Olly have been having wet.

I guess the main concern with the smell is whether it's related to the dry mix or if there's a bacterial infection going on.

Thanks Abby,
I was thinking of seeing if I can speak to my avian vet over the phone and ask his opinion. I changed them to the dry mix about 6 months ago now, they are so healthy and happy that I wouldn't think it would be bacterial or there would be symptoms, but I could be wrong.
