Erie Zoo

So I took the kids to the zoo in Erie, PA last week. They have this awesome aviary with lorikeets. Mostly rainbows, with a few of the red ones. Between certain hours you can get nectar cups and feed them. We have sun conures at home, so my kids (5 & 7) weren't shy about handling them. My daughter had 3 of them on her arm at one time.

If you're in the Erie, PA area.. I'd recommend visiting the zoo, if just to play with the lorikeets. It was definitely my favorite part of the zoo.

Isn't it the greatest!? That would have been so great for the kids. There's a place near me that we can do that with wild lorikeets! It's always a thrill!

There's one at the Philadelphia Zoo. My boyfriend and I have been zoo members for three years now. My favorite exhibit is the lorie avaiary. I could feed them aaall day. We both took some pictures when we were there last week.

HMM I live in Erie and have not been to the zoo in several years. Don't think they had an aviary the last time I went there.

Are you in Erie?

That sounds great! :D I would love to go to the US and visit the zoos there (I was like 5 last time I did x__x ). Anything with lorikeets I would be drawn to, hehe.

Last year I went to Jurong Bird Park in Singapore which has the largest lory aviary in the world. You can feed them there too. Pics from when I was there:
