Rainbows

I think it would be interesting to explore the uniqueness of rainbow lorikeet's feathers... how each and every bird is different in some way... like fingerprints or leopards' spots.
If you can, post some pics and we can compare them. (If you don't have a rainbow then post a lory pic anyway!) Try and get sharp, highly detailed pics that show the color well. This should be fun!

Nice idea! Is that first photo Ashling? It's a terrific shot. :)
I have noticed that rainbows have different shaped faces, some are longer or have a more stretched out beak. Really subtle but especially noticeable when you own one yourself.

My Zellkai had a thin stripe of light green behind his neck (thinner than other rainbows), medium amount of red on his chest, orange spotted back. He did have a redder beak than the photos make out.

I happened to have those compiled photos for someone who drew a portrait of him. :P

Wow I love his little green stripe on the back of his neck it is so much thinner than Dizzy's. And that beautiful red chest. Aw he is so cute.

Gorgeous pics there Clara.

Now until I saw the pics I thought you wanted us to pluck feathers and take photos, then my brain started functioning again.

I'll see what I can find or take some of Pip and Olly tomorrow. Just wanted to comment on the stunning pics of Ashling, Diz and Zellkai in the mean time.

What subspecies are ya'lls? I know the edwards, the green nape, but I can't think of the name of you guy's. I think they are the most beautiflull, by the way. :) And I've heard they make the best pets. :)
