Rainbows
I think it would be interesting to explore the uniqueness of rainbow lorikeet's feathers... how each and every bird is different in some way... like fingerprints or leopards' spots.
If you can, post some pics and we can compare them. (If you don't have a rainbow then post a lory pic anyway!) Try and get sharp, highly detailed pics that show the color well. This should be fun! ![]()

Nice idea! Is that first photo Ashling? It's a terrific shot. :)
I have noticed that rainbows have different shaped faces, some are longer or have a more stretched out beak. Really subtle but especially noticeable when you own one yourself. My Zellkai had a thin stripe of light green behind his neck (thinner than other rainbows), medium amount of red on his chest, orange spotted back. He did have a redder beak than the photos make out. Neck: ![]() Chest: ![]() Back: ![]() I happened to have those compiled photos for someone who drew a portrait of him. :P ![]()
