New Green Nape at Home

I haven't been to active here lately but I did want to drop by and brag a moment about a new addition to the flock. He's a Green Naped Lorikeet. I don't have a name for him yet but I'm considering Cantaloupe and Honeydew.

For those who don't know me I have a little rascal named Watermelon who needs constant attention. I just headed back to work full time so I decided to get Watermelon a buddy.

My new little guy is just a baby (7 weeks old) and has a ways to go before they get introduced.

Good to hear from you! Oh he is a cutie- still has his little black beak and everything... that brings me back. I like the name Cantaloupe haha
I know how hard it is to find time for them so I'm sure Watermelon will love a new buddy to play with (when they can meet that is!) Enjoy the new baby and thanks for the pic! :)

I briefly considered Rock Melon (Australian for Cantalope), but Cantalope seems to have the best ring to it.

He had a tough first few days with some crying and the new surroundings. But he's learned step up this week. I let him sit on the playground today for the first time today. I forgot how much babies just watch and learn. He took his first flight off of it! Woo Hoo! The Tiels watched nervously... (too much activity for them)

Dang those little nails are way sharper than Watermelons. Once he begins climbing around that should change.
