Nectar Recipe Q

Was wondering if anyone has a good recipe for a wet nectar. I have a Rainbow and a Red Collar and i currently buy the Elliotts nectar for them but i wanted to see if it is something i could make at home.

Also, my birds have taken to feeding each other the way a mother would a baby. Does anyone know why the would do this? I thought maybe they are practising for their own babies or something but i am not sure.

There seems to be plenty of recipes out there, however most of them will be nutritionally incomplete and many are way too high in sugar, so homemade is generally not a very reliable diet. Having said that there are serious breeders out there who have had great success with their own nectar mixes.
I am uncertain of the quality of the Elliotts brand. I have only ever used the Passwell

Birds that have formed a pair-bond will feed each other, as they do this when they have babies (the male will feed the female while she is in the nest hollow sitting on the eggs or brooding the young babies.) It sounds like your two enjoy each others company and share a bond.
