A Conure Found me, what to do? (found conure/macaw)

I will start by saying I know little about this subject. 3 days ago, I went to my back porch and found a green parrot! A little Googling later, and I think it is a Conure. The thing is, it is friendly to me and will eat right out of my hand. It talks a little, and is free to come and go as it pleases. However, it has stayed. The bad is that it has no feathers on it's chest or beneath it's wings. It is green with white around the eyes, yellow or orange eyes, and the feathers are yellow under the wings. There are red tufts of feathers on the front of it's wings. I think it is a Cuban Conure from what I have read. Any advice is welcomed. I bought some parrot feed at Wal Mart, but am sure it is not enough. Anyhow, here is a pic.

He seems to like that palm bush, and it keeps him safe from the other animals in the neighborhood. If I keep him, I will get a cage, and fix all of the broken screens around my pool and porch area.

Looks like it could be a Severe Macaw...? Someone more knowledgeable than me will come along soon to identify the type of bird, but have you started posting fliers and contacting local shelters and vets' offices to see if someone is missing a parrot? Is he still loose outside or have you taken him inside?

Thanks for looking out for the little fella. Hope we can be of some help.

That looks like a hahn's macaw too, but the beak is more cuban conure. some water and fruit and vegies would go along way, have you seen if anyone has posted a missing bird in the area? Maybe a vet could check it over to make sure there are no diseases or hasnt been attacked...looks like its been plucking a bit?

Someone is probably missing him. Your local paper and any other local lost and found would be a good idea too. Plus if you take him to any vet they should be able to check and see if he/she is microchipped.

Maybe check and see if anyone in your area is missing one. If you can not find its owners and want to care for it that is great. As for the missing feathers, he might have been plucking them from stress or something like that, I am a new conure owner so I am a bit green in that area. I would get him inside sooner then later before something gets to him.

He is still loose outside. I have asked a few neighbors if they have heard anything. It is a small bird too, maybe 10-12 inches from head to tail. I would take him inside, but I have no where to put him. I also figure that as loyal as he seems to be to me that he would have returned home if he was treated right. I do know someone in the SPCA, and will see what he thinks I should do as well. I am not interested in stealing someone's pet.

Yeah if someone has lost a pet and is looking for it it is best to retun it home but if nothing comes of it you might be able to keep it. A Hahn's macaw is a mini macaw, they aren't very big at all. Bit the beak looks cuban conure. Do you think maybe you could bring him inside and maybe keep him in a bathroom or shower so he cant fly away and maybe be killed by a dog or car. Then just scatter some seed and fruit around or put them in bowls and a water bowl. Then your friend in the SPCA might be able to tell you what to do next. He might be microchipped too. Thanks for looking out for him.

How can I keep him inside if I lack a cage? I have access to a cat carrier, but doubt that would be good for him. I am also flat broke right now and can't afford a trip to the doctor's for myself, let alone vet bills. I don't want him to be hurt. I have noticed his feathers starting to grow back on his chest since I found him, so maybe that's a good sign.
