Exclamation anyone lose a pair of gray's?

my boyfriend was on cl looking for more birds for me to have!!! he he he gotta love him! and he found this pair of grays that are free to a good home, so he has been emailing back and forth something dont seem right they say they are leaving the country and cant take them okay...... so he asked them for pics they dont have any so then i told him to ask for their address so i can come look at them (thinking they live in springfield mo cuz thats where he was looking) well they are all the way in new york so i told them okay thats fine i will drive there to get them but i need to talk to someone bout them before i make a 20 + drive for something i know nothing about have not heard anything back let me know if anyone lost a pair of grays in new york!!!!

Honestly, it sounds like a scam. Next thing you know they'll tell you that they've already left the country but will "ship" the birds to you. Don't fall for it.

before i got boogie i would say every ad on cl that i looked into except for maybe 2 were scams

most didnt even have the sense to not paste the same text that other scammers are pasting

so silly

well i would drive and pick them up but i didnt want to pick up someones babies and yeah if its a scam then they will get an ear full!!!! but i will not send any money to them i would only go and pick them up i'm up for a road trip anyways lol

well i got my goffins too off cl and so glad i did she is a plucker and the people who had her didnt have time for her but they called me and talked to me to make sure i knew about birds and all that and they even met me half way so they were really good people i just hate how my baby looks right now she is so bad but i only have had her since 8/24/08 so i hope she gets better!!!

i found wasabi on cl
i emailed back and forth with his previous owner probably a dozen times before i even felt comfortable enough driving to where she was
and i carry a gun

lol

lol i didnt have a gun on me but i had a full bottle of pepper spray (they kind the police carry) so yeah i think we all get a little freaked out by cl but it was the best drive i ever made!!!

I certainly didn't mean to imply that all ads on Craig's List were a scam. I got Mika from an ad on CL. But when I was interacting with her previous owner, nothing sent up red flags like:

- what kind of owner doesn't have photos of their pet?
- why posts an ad in a CL location multiple states away?
- a pair of Greys... for FREE?
- nothing inherently suspicious about leaving the country, but that's just a pretty standard line in a common CL scam.
