Never Give Up Hope
I JUST HAVE TO SHARE: My first and my most loyal Cockatiel, flew out the door that was left open by my grandbabies. I looked for 11 hours and found him twice, on tho of the trees, only to lose him again, after he flew away when it was getting dark. I put an ad in the papers for 3 months. Then I would send an ad once a month. I had so many wonderful people contact me, and wanting to give me a Cockatiel. I explained I don't want one, but am still hoping to someday be reunited with "HANK". I lost him May 17, 2006. Monday, November 3, 2008, I FOUND HIM. Another Bird Lover, sent me an email, and told me to check on Craigs list. I have been checking and checking My husband took me al most 3 hours away to Asheville NC, and all the way to South Carolina. Each time I went, it was not 'HANK". A girl put an ad on Craigslist, and it sounded like him,. He did the wolf whistle, and whistled the Adams family theme song, and said ,"here kitty kitty My husband and I went on Monday, and it was him. He came right to me. he kept rubbing my neck. I could not stop crying. This is the only bird I ever had get away on me. He was so special and was my first Bird. He is home now, and a little quiet, but if I walk out of the room he squaks. He has to be with me. Today, he is getting a little more used to being home with my other Cockatiels, and is not so afraid any more. I can leave the room, now without him being terrified. I JUST WANT TO SAY HAVE FAITH, AND NEVER LOSE HOPE. I experienced a miracle today. Regards,
Diane |

Diane, that is truly a heartwarming and amazing story. I am so so happy you were reunited with your precious Hank! I thank you for sharing it, in order that others never give up hope. I have read, so often in different posts to not give up hope, but have to admit, in the past, I would found it difficult. This story has changed my thinking. Would you mind if I shared this post in another bird forum I belong to?

You found him again after two and a half years?!?! It's heartwarming that you never stopped looking; obviously you were extraordinarily dedicated to finding him. I don't know that I would have had the strength. This is an absolutely amazing story. (My eyes are welling up a little I'm so touched by it). I would give anything to know what he's thinking and all he's been through in that long, long time.
