Lost African Grey ~East London South Africa

Hi All

I live in Dorchester Heights, East London in South Africa and my worst fear has also come true. My beloved 1 and a half year olf little African Grey got out and flew off on Saturday 16 May 2009. It is called Jakey and talks in Afrikaans. It also imitates the phone, etcetera. If anyone in the greater East London area sees it, please contact me urgently. My husband and I are heartbroken. I work for CENTURY21 in East London, so my telephone number can be obtained there should you see my little angel

Thank you

Alma

I am so sorry to hear this....I would suggest you call pet stores, veterinarian offices and post fliers and advertisements. If you can offer a reward you may have a better chance of its safe return.

Good Luck

Mary

I have added the town in the title.
I am sorry to hear this. Please keep us updated when you can, and best of luck to you. Have you posted on 911parrotalert?

Thanks so much to Mary and Lisa for the support, so few people understand the agony of losing a much loved bird. I think this site is a wonderful idea. I will certainly post it also on 911parrotalert. Will let you know when we are re-united.

Kind regards

Alma Vlok

Hi All,

Just to let you know, I received a call from a very kind person who lives in Abbotsford, approximately 5 kilometers from my home in Snow Water Rd, Dorchester Heights. Unfortunately he was dead. Went to fetch him and buried him in my garden. Obviously very emotional and a very sad weekend. Suppose that's life. He did not have any marks on his little body except for a small mark on his left wing. I think he died of trauma and hunger. Thought it best to let every-one know so we can learn a little more with every incident.

Kind regards

Alma

I'm so sorry for your loss Alma. It breaks my heart to hear this.
I had to break the news to someone with the same result. It still haunts me.
