Yet another Lost Tiel

I made a Big Big Mistake Today.
I have lost Tweety!
We, Tweety and myself went over to the neighbor across the drive, I had her in cupped hands like I do when I am outside with her. She was procrastinating.
So as soon as I got into their house I let her up onto my shoulder.
Well Pip their dog came running to see me and Tweety freaked out like birds do, she was airbourne before I could react and the door at the other end of the lounge was open and she found it. Gone. She did fly back towards home, but could find no sign of her.
I am so pleased to know that she can fly away from danger, not sitting around waiting to become a meal. But I do not think she will know how to find food? I have put her cage outside on the deck by the conservatory she lived in.
The weather is about to crap out for the next few days, so she is going to have a bad time of it, out there.
Circulars, I will print tonight and put in the house's around me.
I will throw an add on Trade Me and phone the bird rescue.
Lets keep our fingers crossed!
I feel so guilty right now, I am just a stupid moron, it sucks that my stupidity has put her well being at risk like this.
On top of that I have had such a bad day, with other things going wrong.

I hope she comes home, it's so horrible when this happens. I have lost too many birds to the outdoors so mine are all clipped.

OMG! I was just visiting the cockatiel board last night and remarking (to myself) how beautiful Tweety is! If I ever got a cockatiel I would want it to be as gorgeous as Tweety! I can't believe he's gone! I really hope you find him. He's a gorgeous bird! My fingers are crossed for you!

Thank you all for the support. Thank you Brdfvr I agree she was a very good looking girl.
No sign of her, I am just hoping she got somewhere out of the weather last night.
My next guess is that if she hears any Tiels and she gets hungry enough she will go there. She likes company. As I had taught her to forage natural things she maybe able to find enough food to at least keep her alive.
We have put out around 200 flyers down wind of me. Local shops and school, the local vet all have a poster. Plus a few telegraph poles have posters.
She is 'Pets on the Net' listed. Our local Animal online resource. And Trade Me listed.

I have to buy more ink before I can print any more, just a few more streets to get flyers. Wow I used over $80 worth of ink or full set of cartridges!
To try to let you know how I feel! "Empty." "Sick" and "Annoyed I cannot help her".
My greatest regret is, I have put her at risk. I'm am a total 'explitive' idiot.
I can and will get over it in time, but will she? I 'explitive' well hope she is alive and at least finds a happy home or gets returned to me.
Because of her handicap I do not think she will be out there on her own for very long.

I will get a new Tiel as there is a Big Big Hole in my life right now. But if I get her back she will be top dog, and fear not I am not ready to give up just yet. I will keep making as much noise as I can. Tweety was the love of my life and as such those feelings will always be there.
We were not getting on very well with me trying to make a harness, and her having to put up with me keep trying it on her. I had decided to buy an Aviator.
I have been in touch with a local breeder who has someone close to them who hand rears cockatiels.
I had already been looking at checking out some very young (Feathers just coming in) hand reared Tiels. Which I can go and meet and handle a couple of times before I take over care. This was going to be company for her.
Here is another shock I asked cost of DNA sexing. my Avian vet quoted what could be $170 another around $85.

Tweety! Still missing.
I have had some good response from flyers and Trade Me, so we know the word is out.
I just need to keep up making noise about my lost girl. There have been 2x Tiels found around here. But it was not Tweety.
I have had good feedback about the flyers and posters.
For all those in NZ I have to say Trade Me has been the best place to advertise.
Within an hour of putting up the details on Henry, I had an incoming email telling me to look at new listing in case it was Tweety.
Petsonthenet has been good also.
If she is out there I am determined to find her.
