Feather loss while I was on vacation...
I have noticed that whenever I go on vacation, my two parrotlets lose lots of feathers... this never happens when I am home (outside of the normal moult).
My dogwalker stays in my apartment and takes great care of them... their daily schedule / lighting is not interrupted in anyway. She does not take them out while I'm gone but makes sure that they get special attention and treats... They don't have any bald places but lots of feathers everywhere... Anyone else experience this? I guess they do miss me! |

Yes, you are important to them and IMO they know it.
![]() When a significant member leaves, it's stressful on the rest of the flock. Stress can, among other things, cause increased feather loss.
