Well, I'm really gonna miss this guy. I love those RB crooners. With the passing of Luther and Teddy, its getting harder and harder to fall in love. He was a good guy who died way too young.

Thats a shame, I knew he had been having health problems, but I didn't know it had gotten that serious.

I am a Civil War buff and I was saddened to see that Shelby Foote died earlier this week. However, he wasn't young, 88. His books were the basis for the PBS series, he was a marvelous writer and historian.

I just couldnt believe this. LastI had heard he was recovering from his stroke. So sad. I loved the song Here & now.

I didn't even know that Shelby had died. My husband loved him and still watches the civil war series whenever it re-runs on PBS.

Yea, I was so sad when I heard that last night. I loved his song's. Most of his family members passed away from diabetes too. I think he knew that sooner or later it was going to come. It breaks my heart to see him on T.V looking and singing healthy, but now he's gone :( . He died the day after the BET awards...just like Rick James did.

One of the most memorable concerts I ever went to - he was one of my faves. (Nancy - I'm pretty sure that Teddy Pendergrass is still alive - and just recently came out with a new album.)

WOW I'm shocked about Luther VanDross I have always loved his music.
I'm very saddened by Shelby Foote too, great historian. I too am a Civil War buff, and watch 'The Civil War' whenever it gets shown on PBS. Sighhhhhh how sad. And you're right Nancy about no one being able to fall in love again. Can you imagine it with some of todays hip-hop or rap? OR to the tune of "Who Let The Dogs Out?" ROTFLMBO

Being the manager of a Sam Goody, I was totally shocked when I found out Luther died. He was loved very much. The music industry has lost one it's best musicians.
