Hot, humid, and just miserable in Florida

Unfortunately we were not given the Spring season; jumped from Winter to summer! It is hot and sticky here, and the fids are only allowed on the porch during the night hours, when it is "bearable". The living room looks like a bird aviary - the up side to this is, if they make enough mess on the carpet, and I don't clean it up, maybe hubby will let me put down the wood floor that I have been begging for! The down side to this is I can't stand a mess for too long and will eventually pull out the cleaner and clean!
Guess it is a no win situation!

Arizona has been in the 110 range for the past week, but it's a dry heat (4% humidity)! I don't miss the muck and my mom wonders why I won't come for a visit. The last time I was in Fla in the June time frame it took me a week to dry everything out when I got home.

Being of Desert nomad stock on both sides of my family, peoples in whose native tounges there is no word for "frozen water falling from the sky", I have grown into quite the "weather whimp". I live in a lovely coastal city situated on a peninsula. The littoral areas are truly ideal for moderating climatic extremes. When the weather moves toward the uncomfortable warm, the marine layer swoops in between 18:00-19:30 and drop the ambient temperature to a range between the upper 50°s to mid 60°s (fahrenheit, of course). Today the high temperature was a lovely 71°. Wish you all could share in the wonderful, temperate climate.

Up until today, for the last 3 days, it has been picture perfect. Today has been hot and humid in Maryland as well. Still, its not raining and the family will be going to see fireworks in about a half an hour.

If I hadn't been installing a new computer today, it probably would have been a great day to hang out at the pool. Ah, in the words of Miss Scarlett O'Hara, "tomorra is anutha day".

We're never really satisfied, are we.

I have a similar genetic background to Yehuda but only on half of me-my biological father. But I am equally a weather wimp and if the temps get below 60F, it's time to pull out the doonas (heavy quilts) and jackets! I hate winter! Any of you Floridians want to trade with me for the next 3 months?

Actually I hate both Tiki - winter & summer......If I could have it my way, I would want 80 degree days, lil humidity as possible and 60-65 degree nights - yr. round........

Me too, on hating both!

I however would prefer 65 degree days and 50 degree nights. Rain 2 days a week with little to medium humidity.

Ahhhhh heaven.

Living on the sun

Texas and most of the other southern stated are about 3 degrees shy of being the middle of hell, the only reason that everything doesnt explode into a big ball of flame is because the humidity keeps it from burning.

It has been so hot that the other day i passed a snake that was begging a rat for a cool drink.
