That is sooooo disgusting. It makes me sick at the thought of someone doing that.

What part? The Tattoo's, of which more than half of my body is covered with, or the piercing which I also have more than one on my body including a larger than usual ear piercing?
And Why?
What about the Maori or other peoples where facial Tattoos are considered a sign of beauty?
Just interested and curious is all.

When I was young and rebelious ( ) I was all set to get several piercings. I ended up passing out after I got my belly button pierced. While it doesn't make me 'sick' it does make me whince to see that many piercings on someone. Either he has a high pain thresshold or just likes the pain

Is THAT you??
Do you want the truth?
All of it. Why would you want to destroy your body?

Well the Maori and any other tribe or group of people who think that tattoos are a sign of beauty are out of their minds.
Have you ever tried sitting on a bench at the mall and watch the life forms that go by?
I’m not trying to be mean Graehstone, you asked for what I thought and I gave it.

Hmmm let's see, What part of the body is being destroyed here? Explain "destroy" and No, that is not me.
It is also nice to see that "we" the "enlightened western cultures" think that anyone that is not our vanilla flavor are out of their minds.
Do you wear jewelry?
Are your ears pierced?
Do you color your lips and finger and toenails so they look like they are bleeding? You know, that pretty Red women are prone to use. Or any color for that matter.
Do you wear a dress?
Did you know that in some cultures (other than yours) that would mark you as a harlot?
Who is to say that your values and perceptions are the correct ones? Could it be possible that there might be another school of thought that is just as correct as yours?
Are your world views really that myopic?
It is thinking like that that started the Inquisition.
I too am not trying to be mean, just desperately trying to understand "your" world.

...er, just gonna add my .02 cents...

...there's a difference between the Maori tattooing as a sign of beauty...which I believe results from hundreds of years of cultural evolution... and Western Culture tattooing, which I believe is the short-term, recent result of a little widespread antiestablishmentarianism (luv using that word! )
