Poor Kitty!

I know this is a bird forum, and cats are a bird's natural enemy (most of the time), but I just had to post these pictures!

The cat's owner called the groomer and asked for a "line cut". The groomer understood "lion cut", and this was the unfortunate result! Doesn't the poor cat look just downright depressed? Poor kitty!!

Now that is one sad looking cat. His boots are kinda cute, though.

That poor cat. I feel so bad for it. I feel even worse b/c Tim and I got a good laugh out of it. I can just hear him now, he doesn't get along with my cat. He might take her to a groomer and ask for a "lion cut". I better lock her up when I'm not home.

We had to do something similar to a Himalayan we rescued when the Owner (a vet) died and no one in his family wanted him. They had left him for the most part in a dog crate and his hair was matted to the point it had to be shaved by a groomer. The cat became psychotic, purring and sweet one minute and scratching you the next with no warning as to his mood. I still think the shaving when he was used to having so much hair contributed to his attitude.

Bullet had some hair matted around his left ear... nothing terrible... However, his rear end doesn't get as much attention as the rest of the fur (darn pooch wont hold still!!!) so today, he had his full 'main' and rear end feathers cut with a pair of scissors! He wasn't a happy camper though he seemed better once I put his 'special collar' on him! I would have used our dog clippers, if they even worked (so far they only work with human hair…. Bullets hair is just too thick and too wiry for them to work really).

In the meantime, I need to ‘attack’ Squirt, because he needs his rear end cleaned of hair, too, so he will stop leaving surprises around the house! Ewww….

As far as that cat goes.... poor kitty!

ROAR!! says the kitty after his lion cut. Poor thing. Luckily fur grows back just like our hair.
