Kara has a full time job

Just thought I would share with you that my 21 year old daughter has scored herself a full time job working at Alice Springs Resort. She leaves on the 12 of August. I will be very sad (for me) when she goes, but hope she really enjoys herself and learns heaps and makes good friends and looks after herself. I will probably not see her for a long time. For those of you who do not know, Alice Springs is near Ayers Rock (Uluru) in the middle of Australia in the desert. I live in another state near the coast (not on the coast). It would cost me about $600 just to fly over there (return) to visit her. she does plan on comming back, but needs to earn some serious money and just get out of the rut she is in. She can transfer to a resort of theirs in Queensland when she has been there for about 6 months (I think). They are called "Voyages" and used to be P & O. Just thought I would share that for those who followed my "Kara's job interview" thread many months ago, when she went for an interview in a beauty shop but did not get it. I found out it was a cover anyway, the shop owners did a runner and owe heaps of money to people.

Oh cool, Tracey! I have been to Alice Springs and Uluru, would like to go back someday. Keep an eye on the paper, Virgin and Qantas sometimes do deals. Have you seen the new tv show on Ch 9, The Alice? Starts tonight. I hope Kara likes her new job, does she get to live on the Resort? That would be so much fun, it probably gets an interesting mix of people from all over the world!

She gets to stay at the resort for 1 week then she has to find her own accommodation. Apparently most end up at the backpackers for a few weeks until they settle in and find accommodation. Stephen looks up virgin for cheap fares for Rhianna and his boss and has looked them up for Kara now and the cheapest is about $200 one way (it was over $200). When Rhianna went to Adelaide the QVA were including airfares of $265 (to Brisbane only) each way for the champs. We had to find Rhianna's fare home because she stayed for the training camp and we got her a trip home (to Brisbane) for $151 (big difference heh).
