Other pets
I don't know if this thread has been done before, but other than birds, what other kinds of pets do the members here have? I have 4 guinea pigs, Etta (f), Runty(f), Binny(m), and Shorty (m). I also have a Toy Fox terrier dog named Mighty (m). I'll post some pics of them in a little while. :)

Hey Crebain
Can you have a tiny bigmouth bass? Anyway - no other pets now. Vito kitty that lived with my Mom had to be put down last September - he was 20. We had 2 Bettas that each lived about 2 years but are gone now.

Here's Mighty. He thinks he's a Rottweiler. Once he chased a 100 lb dog out of our yard and the dog was actually scared!
![]() Here' the two male guinea pigs, Binny and Shorty. Aren't they cute? Binny is the orange one. Binny is the father of Runty and Shorty, Etta is the mother. ![]() Here's Etta. Her and Binny are very friendly and tame. Shorty and Runty are more skitterish. ![]() Here's Runty. She was the runt of Etta and Binny's children. Etta and Binny had three babies, but we gave one away. ![]() |

Josie, your little dog thinking it's a big dog reminds me of my grandmother's dogs...
She has a HUGE mut...his name is Prescious...and then... She has a Little Peekanese (I don't know how to spell it!) and his name is Brutus! It all seems a little backwards, but it's pretty funny. Speaking of old animals, I had a St. Bernard that lived for 16 years!! St. Bernards are only supposed to live about 9 years because they have a lot of problems. We got her from a shelter (she'd been SEVERELY abused) when I was 6 and she was too. She was only supposed to live about 6 months when we got her because of her problems, but my 'rents thought that it'd be nice to give her a good home to spend her last few months...10 YEARS later, we finally had to put her to sleep because she was blind and would go into seizures about twice a day. She was so big that the vet had to come to the house. My dog, by that point, was blind...so all the people scared her and she wouldn't sit still and she kept biting at people (very unlike her). I was the only one she wouldn't snap at because she knew my smell and my voice, and it was comforting to her. Because of that, I had to be the one to lay by her, pet her, and keep her calm while they gave the injection, and finally, while her life slipped out of her body. That was probably one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever had to do. But I know that she wouldn't have wanted anyone else there, and if it comforted her and she wasn't scared while I was there, then it was all worth it.

I also have a large Australian Sheepdog named Joey. She is very smart, very beautiful, wonderful with kids and birds and a formidable watchdog. She sheds like crazy and will be my LAST dog.

Hmmm...
We currently have (in addition to Maia) about 200 tropical fish- between 6 tanks. and 6 cats - not by choice. We are a blended family - I had 2 cats, my fiance had 4 cats. I thought it best to give up a few, but our kids wouldn't hear of it - so now THEY scoop the poop for Sushi, Mittens, Timmy, Peter, Holly, and Pandora! (all of which are scared to death of Maia!) ![]()

Besides the birds, we have 2 cats, Squirt and Sprite, which are brother and sister. Squirt is a LARGE cat with long thick fur. He was named because he's a squirt, a.k.a. pest. Sprite is smaller, and is like a regular sized cat with medium length fur (normal), and was named Sprite because Squirt is also the name of a Soda...
Squirt a.k.a. the white cat a.k.a. fluff ball Sprite a.k.a. the black cat (she does have stripes, and has ones on her sides that curl kinda like a cinnamen roll...) Both Squirt and Sprite are black and white cats. Sprite has the black body with white feet, white stomach, white nose and chest, with a little gotee (sp) that connects to her black jaw (the only other cat we had with a gotee was a male...), while Squirt on the other hand is more like white with large black spots, nearly a sadle back. Squirt is white with a black head though his nose or muzzle area is white, his legs are white with a bit of black, most of his middle and lower back are black, and his tail is completely black except for the very tip which is white. Then we (or shall I say I) have Bullet. His mother was a lab/chow mix (though she's small compared to my G'mas dog that was a lab/chow mix), and his father is unknown. I suspect his father to be part australian shepard, or some type of collie (neighbor mentioned that Bullet might be part border collie). Bullet does have markings of an australian shepard, the top of his back is curled, and he has a short tail, though a tail nonetheless. Some people have asked if I tried to get it amputated, but he was born with a short tail. Bullet is completely black with a white chest and part of his stomach, with a bit of white on his neck. Then there is also Lucky, a Shihtzu. He's black with white on his chest and face, and usually has long hair unless he goes in for grooming. At the moment, he's not around (thankfully) as he is with his owner which is staying with her daughter. Two cats and Bullet is enough, but with Lucky around, it's worse... it's a major pain in the rear end, especially with having another dog around that he's not used to (constant barking at Bullet, and peopling passing by, it's hard to get him to be quiet). The cats are not allowed in my room, however Bullet is (I rarely let Lucky in, and well, Bullet usually follows me everywhere, and the birds don't bother him, unless one may be on the ground, he wants to check it out, which is usually Casey). The cats are around a year old now (we got them before they were even able to walk, and their eyes barely open... much too young), Lucky, I don't know his age, and Bullet is around 6 or 7 months old now, I think. I'd have pictures, but I can't get to the ones of the cats and Lucky on my mothers computer and the ones of Bullet I haven't been able to get developped yet...
