Mourning the loss of a BirdBoard member...
My dear BB members,
On Friday, the members of BB and OPL lost one of their own. Dino24 passed away suddenly due to a heart condition. Let us remember Cathy, her husband and her family in our hearts. Lara ( MamalovesRico) had become close to Cathy over the past several months, and it was she who got the news of her death this morning. I was able to find the obituary today.. Catherine Elizabeth "Cathy" Smith Catherine "Cathy" Smith Catherine Elizabeth "Cathy" Smith, 37, a teacher's aide for the Leon County School System, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Tim Smith. The service will be at 6 p.m. EDT Monday at Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-State Avian Society, P.O. Box 7544, Tallahassee, FL 32314. A native and lifelong resident of Tallahassee, she was an avid reader. She was a member of the Tri-State Avian Society and Wildwood Presbyterian Church. Other survivors include a son, Alex Lee Smith of Tallahassee; her father, Robert Parker of Bainbridge, Ga.; three sisters, Claudia Putnam of Raleigh, N.C., Lisa Overton of Tallahassee and Jennifer Parker of Las Vegas; and her mother- and father-in-law, James W. and Carolyn Smith of Tallahassee. Published in the Tallahassee Democrat on 8/7/2005.

I posted in the other thread............this is so tragic to lose such a lovely person at such a young age. I was only just getting to know her.

Be at peace Cathy. You are now an angel!
 I pray that her husband and family find comfort in those they love.  I pray that Lara will find comfort in her family here. Remember to hug those you love and hold them dear to your heart. We all forget sometimes just how precious life is! Regina

Cathy was a lovely, generous member and will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear this. She was a great help and loved to talk birds.
Strong vibes for her family, especially the little one. Is there anywhere to send donations to for a nice wreath of something?
