Spare Time

I think it would be neat to see what everyone does in their spare time to see if anyone has the same common interest .

I like to Sew , I listen to music all the time. I am a music buff and enjoy all types but prefer 70's rock. Cooking , reading , swinging outside on my covered porch sippin sweet tea , decorating , crafts and spending as much time with my husband & kids as I can. I also love to go for Harley rides with my husband but its hard when you have a 5 year old and no babysitter.

I agree! what spare time! lol!

let's see..... I'm a Cheerleading coach my daughter Lia's squad, I'm a Branch Leader for Longaberger, I'm on the yearbook committee for Lauren's school (I take pics and do computer work &layouts), I scrapbook, paint, Quilt, sew, make floral arrangements, finish furniture, cross stitch, make cards, I like to make things out of fimo clay (figurines/jewerly) - lots of arts and craft stuff and I really enjoy photography too.

When we have time my husband and I scuba dive, we both have advanced certifications, but since having the girls we don't get to do that much anymore! and we are Parrot Heads! our 1st date was to a Jimmy Buffett Concert!

So basically, I have a very dirty house cause I have too many craft items & supplies and no where to put them (yet) and no time to clean cause I have too much to do!!!! ok, I do clean a little.....

Spare time...

I like to read, go to movies, spend as much time with my parrot and dogs as possible, play on my computer, check my e-mails, talk on the phone (I usually get around 10 calls each day. ). I guess I do everything - I also love traveling and doing anything in the public spotlight.

I guess I'm a typical "redneck". I like anything outdoors.. hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR, and hiking. I love crafting things. Also like to garden, read, write short stories and poems, birdwatching, riding horses, working on the big trucks, and sitting on my back porch listening to the crickets & watching the lightning bugs.

Once all the housework is done I enjoy lurking around here and playing Neopets while I chat with my friends around the world on msn.

My big hobby is travelling via motorcycle. I rack up as many miles during the weekend as my posterior will allow driving around Central New York.

I'm hoping to spend a week in the Adirondacks this September wandering around the entire area looking at the fall foliage. Rooms with jacuzzis drop to $160/night (From $250+) and I found a place that rents a cabin with all the electric amenities and a 6 person hot tub for $1000/week. Hell, with places like that I may never see the leaves.

When I'm not doing that, I'm a big news/politics junkie. Well, that and Alton Brown. That man knows how to cook & make a great kitchen.

Looks like we have a lot of bikers here -- me too. I also love to read, fiddle on the computer, play with my birds, TRAVEL and, of course, there's that obligatory Sunday afternoon nap. Right now I'm getting ready to sell my house and build, so lots of my spare time is spent painting and decorating.

I USED to street rod a lot when I had my own convertible and more time. That was before I started adding parrots to my household. I was gone every single weekend from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

I like to antique shop and collect all kinds of crazy stuff. I used to collect carnival chalks and women's clothing from the 1920's and 1930's. I also collect old hats from that period.

I sew whenever I have a little time, especially during the fall and winter. Occasionally, I'll do an upholstery project, but less and less.

I also do flower arranging. I was a floral designer for about 8 years until I just got tired of being underpaid (LOL). I usually hold out for fun projects like weddings, but my best work is actually funerial. I like doing casket sprays and large standing pieces.

I'm a good cook. I like to experiment and cook all kinds of stuff. I like to cook Indian, Thai, French,Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, German and all kinds of regional American food.

I'm a fair car mechanic on OLD cars. I know nothing about anything built after 1975 when it comes to engine work.

Though I haven't done so in years, I'm an "ok" artist. I was a graphic artist for Uncle Sam and though that in no way implies I'm any good with a paintbrush, I can do some decent acrylic work. I love watercolors, but seem to have problems working in reverse, which is really what you need to do when working with that medium.

However, I really like to do research. I like a mystery, and therefore find it fascinating to try to figure out how and why things are the way they are. I probably would have made a pretty good clinical researcher, but my eyes aren't what they used to be and I'm getting too old to start now.

I haven't had spare time since I bought Rico. One of the things I love to do is research anything of interest. I know, kinda geeky, but I like it. I love the outdoors but haven't had a chance to do much. Before I got married I used to take my dog on vacation. My husband is a city guy that likes the glitz, glamour and fast life. I like that too but not all the time. I love to hike but my animals have to be with me to fully enjoy it. For now, I research anything on birds in my spare time and totally enjoy it.
