then again though, the bird was already 30 when she got him...maybe that was the only peaceful bond she could make with him?
Who knows...it was still a good read though...

Who knows what goes on in the minds of our fids? At least he had a wonderful home with people to doted on him and took good care of him. That's really the most important thing.

and at least she didn't really encourage raising your bird that exact way...she just gave reasons and theories as to why they behave the way they do, she kinda lets you draw your own conclusions from there. Other than that, she's just giving you the story of her life with her parrot.
You're right though, at least Tikko is happy :D

If I may get back to the Cracker stories. Since I got peewee at 3 years old I figured that when she wanted a cracker she wanted a cracker OH NO!!!!
It took me along time and many different kinds of crackers (and a few thrown back at me) to find out what she wanted. It's not a Cracker at all she wants LIFE cereal. She just loves it. If it's not Life you will get it back one way or another. Just thopught that was cute.

that's cute!
My quaker eats the inside of the mini-muffins I bake him..he won't eat the shell of it. When he's finished with one, he always wants another. He'll pick up the shell of it, walk to the edge of his cage, wait for me to look over, then he drops it on the floor and makes a yell. He'll keep dropping crumbs of the muffin and even seed shells on the carpet and making sounds until I bring him another muffin! I know...he's spoiled...he's just too cute, I can't tell him no! He doesn't even usually eat the second one..maybe take a bite or two out of it.

That explains the way all of my birds regard french fries. They always treat the crispy outside as a shell.

maybe it's because our birds are so used to peanuts, nuts, and seeds?
who really knows what's going on in their heads!?!
My quaker does the same thing to french fries too!

Cory is the same way - she won't eat the "skin" of anything - I wonder if that's also a survival mechanism.

Back to they know what their saying...
This morning Cory and I were singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in the shower (she beeps along so far) and she was singing so nicely that I went closer to her perch and asked her to give me a kiss. She said "Don't Wanna" and stuck her head under the spray!

your stories are TOO ADORABLE! I hope mine respond like that one day!
But with something like that, it's hard to say that they don't know what they're saying.

Aaawwwoooo!! I want a talking bird! We only have cockatiels in the house, but they dont talk, but and Jake and his mum, Sunny, can be very cute.

Jake comes when he is called (hherrree, Jakie Jakie!!) and it is brilliant when you hearing his running up the lino hallway with his little tapp tapping claws!

In our old house, Sunny used to make her way up and down the stairs, into the kitchin, and scream and scream until someone gave her something with chocolate in it!!

They are both only young (sunny is 6, jake is 3) so I guess there is hope for them still!!
