Need a break from the snow?

Some of us (floridians) have kicked this idea around a little bit, I'm just wondering how many people would be interested....we were thinking how much fun it would be to arrange a birdboard get-together somewhere in florida...like maybe BushGardens in Tampa, or something like that. And maybe have it sometime in the fall or winter, or maybe even later than that. I'm inviting ANY ideas that would help us arrange something, and ANY conversation on the topic.

Depends on when you were wanting to do this here thinga ma bobber. I am going to florida....When is spring break again? I think it's somewhere around the beginning of april. Anyways, I will be in Florida for 3 days then I think...Going to Disney World or whatever theme park is down there. Also, if you were wanting to do something around christmas.....well, I am more than likely going to pensacola during christmas to see my grandma....By all means, if you're serious about this....I'm in if I can get a ride down there :-)

well, no matter what, when you're in pensacola, by all means, get in touch with me... I live and grew up in pensacola. We can get coffee, dinner, or a drink or something...maybe even some pellet seed
I'd like to do it on a weekend maybe in October or November...but really, it depends on when the most of the people that want to participate can get the time to. If we can come to a conclusion, I'll even call around to find bird-friendly hotels, and if we have enough people, I'll even negotiate special rates..I think you have to have 15 people or more, but I love negotiating, so I'll work with whatever number of people wanna come down here. Also, if anyone's friends, signifigant others, etc wanna come down, it's not 100% restricted to just members.

Sounds like a cool idea 8) to me, however, the only way I'm getting away from here is if two of your responsible bird-loving family members stay at my place and tend to my huge flock while I get away for the first time in 14 years, to join the others wherever :) .........Otherwise Crebain will just have to wait to see those liquored up pics of me ........

Another idea is for everyone to start pitching in say $5-$10 a week maybe so we can purchase lotto tickets as a group. Then when we win, money for this get-together will be no object for anyone. :)

Joel, how close are you to Tampa? or better yet, what is the closest big town (national airport) near you?
If it'll work better for others, are there any other cities anyone wants to pitch. Maybe if we get a couple of "regional" get-togethers together, then it'll make planning for a bigger one easier....I know..kinda far-fetched, but an idea just the same.
I frequently travel to Dallas, TX; Nashville, TN; and New Orleans, LA...so if anyone is close by, It'd be awesome to meet some of you!

awesome...okay...that's 2 people other than myself that are pretty much definate? Well, small parties are some of the best :D I'd just like to meet as many of you as possible, and how much fun would it be to go do an all-day busch gardens trip? I love that place! I also have a couple good friends in Tampa, so I could stay with them.
