Corneal Transplant ..........

Hey Gang,

Anyone here have any advice or suggestions for me Dear ole Mum who needs a corneal transplant according to the cataract eye surgeon who examined her the other day? I'm taking her for a second opinion in a couple days to the actual corneal transplant surgeon who would be doing the actual surgery as he was not in the office the day we were there for the initial exam.

Anyone had that done or a relative maybe that had that done who may have some ideas or advice on possible complications or success/failure experiences etc. etc. etc.......

We won't be basing our decision on your input, so not to worry about me looking for ya in case something went wrong. We are just asking for some insight on such a procedure from someone who has actually gone thru it etc......Thanks for any help etc.....

sorry, just now saw this. My grandma actually had a transplant done about a year ago. I don't know anything about possible complications or anything like that, but I know hers went very very smoothly. I belive she had to wear a patch for a little while, but that's all she didn't like about it. From what I've heard, it went off without a hitch.
