LIsa, I love it. I imagine though it should be , "when she wraps a foot/beak around my finger"!!
Now that I met Emma, I know even more how special she is. Dear dear girl. Please kiss her and Ollie for me (the two birds of your who took to me the most).
Everyone else - Emma paid attention to me, but anytime I would pay attention to one of lisa's other birds, the next time I went to Emma she would nip me (not too hard, but to send a message, "Don't pay attention to the others! Pay attention to me!" But she'd forgive me quickly and give me a cuddle.

Jodi - "Little Green" is so cute to think of your Cory by. I just remembered - Corbett's song is "It's not easy being green" - the Ray Charles version especially is excellent. If you don't know the words, I'll post them below, but it seems to be about someone who has had a hard time, or had had trouble fitting in, but comes to recognize their own beauty and worth. Well, that sounds a lot like dear Corbett, who was rescued in terrible shape, but is now a sweet happy bird.

A few years ago, my mom's husband, Ralph, was playing the song on the piano with Corbett sitting next to him on the bench. I could see Ralph's and Corbett's backs. Ralph plays beautifully, and the combination of the song and the sweet scene made me burst into tears!

Here's the lyrics:
