October Contest: Halloween Bird Pics!!!

We have an exciting new contest that I hope everyone will enjoy! The theme is Halloween and the stars are your Fids! We have two options:

1. Take a pic of your bird either wearing a costume (like a flight suit or similar) or in a Halloween setting. One prize of $25 will be awarded.

2. Use computer graphics to jazz up a normal pic of your bird to make it appear he is wearing a costume or in a Halloween setting. One prize of $25 will be awarded in this category as well.

do we really need a seperate contest for 'computer enhanced'? I suppose it IS the mods call..but maybe we should have a seperate category for 'baby ghouls' instead..I mean, how can ANYBODYcompete with a nekkid dracula?

Lissa - some of us are so behind as far as computers and technology that I couldn't even begin to compete. I think two different categories is a great idea; gives us "oldies but goodies" a chance!

I have an original picture... also cant compete wiht the enhanced ones.

The reason the contest is set up that way is because some people will have friendly birds that they can get a costume on or put in a Halloween setting. Others will have normal bird pics and they are clever with graphic programs. We found out when we ran the Christmas photo contest last year, people like both options.

I've got no talent when it comes to computer graphics either..I was thinking we could do without the category all together...just do a costume/scenery, and a baby contest!

Actually some of the computer enhanced ones are very clever and artistic. Check out Miro the Macaw's pic here. It can be fun to see how creative people can be!

i think it's a good idea to have two categories like that because my fids do NOT like anything out of the ordinary, usually. I know they are terrified of bright orange so there goes halloween for me!! baby birds can just be submitted under the normal category, may the cutest fid win!

how many entries are allowed? i think i could probably edit images until my hands fell off... oh and i have a cute thanksgiving pic that is a real image i may submit for the heck of it :) apparently they like cornecopias (sp?)
