The big USA, suggest a city

What city in USA fits this description?

*friendly people
*calm and easygoing (not super big city life)
*have a good university
*lovely nature and wildlife
*many posibilites to do outside activities like trekking, bicykling, riding and so on
*not so many crimes, want to be able to go outside in the city and surroundings by yourself doing stuff without being afraid to be mugged/robbed/murdered.
*good weather

I would love to move outside Sweden to study. I have relatives in USA who live in LA, but as I wrote, I don't want a big city life.

If you can handle a cold climate check out Green Bay, Wisconsin. Not sure if UWGB has the right academic program for you, but everything else you want is here.

Heyyyy come to Sydney mate! Everyone is friendly in Australia! The city is not so big and scary, it's quite safe actually. I've never seen any trouble and I have wandered round our fair city at all hours of the day and night.

And not far from the city there's lots of bush to walk around in and beaches to laze on (not my cup of tea, but they're there!)

The universities here are good too, we have quite a few.

Plus we have HEAPS of parrots heh!

Currently I'm studying biomedicin (year 1) but I'm thinking of quiting and start all over with something else since I feel that it isn't right for me (and so much is around animal testing, yuck!)
Thinking about studying ecology, biology or something like that, I'm also looking into studying to dietist (is it called that in english?) but I feel more stong for ecology/biology.

Itchysquid: I first looked into australia, but unfortunatelly I can't bring my parrot Apple with me then :(

4HAND: Sure I can handle cold cliamte. Here were I live now it gets lower than -30 degrees celscius in the winter, but I prefere a place that doesn't get SO cold :p
I'm going to check green bay.

San Diego, California and you wouldn't even be far from your relatives.
Good schools here and 365 days of sunshine.

I'm soft on the Big Apple. I love living in NY and, although, there are scary things said about it, it's pretty tame. I'm not a late nighter anyway but the times I have been out partying it's very busy and fun. Like they say, the city never sleeps. Come check it out. If you come to study and eventually live in the states check out Physician Assistant. It's a great field to practice medicine.

Thanks for all suggestions. I will look into them.
Actually my cousins live in San diego, when I was there to visit I got the impression that it was a huge town.

I forgot one requairement, It have to be possible to find some sort of accomondation were you can have a pet.

If anyone here (preferbly in the age 20-25) goes to the university in USA I would love to hear your experiences!
