Birdboard gathering..CHEEP flights on Southwest.com!

Even tho I can't go, I checked on early AM flights on Saturday and returns on Sunday AM... I could fly Manchester NH to Philly and home again for SIXTY BUCKS.


I can't go, but thought that for those who were thinking the cost would be prohbitive, this is a REALLY good deal....

Just an FYI - I fly out of Philly to the Boston-area via Southwest (into NH and RI) every few months to visit friends. I've never had a problem w/ the airline AND the flights are super-cheap

I'm flying Southwest this weekend to meet the Outlaw and her clan..MHT to BWI. My hubby is a business traveller and absolutely HATES the way Southwest does business, but for me, I'm not fussy..as long as I have an Aisle seat!! But seriously, It's such a short flight I figured it would be fine.. My folks have travelled SW before to/from Florida and have never had a problem either..course they take advantage of early boarding due to Dad's inability to stand for long periods of time....

I won't travel out of Boston if I can possibly avoid it...I HATE the traffic and everything else that comes along with it..I fly either PVD or MHT..either one is about an hour drive, give or take...I'm about 1/2 way between each!

I tried Southwest, not such a good deal from Dallas. I will need only a one way ticket DFW-PHL as I did get a great deal returning from BWI to DFW on AA. So for teh DFW-PHL segments I have 3 choices that I can find unless there are other cheapies out there not in Expedia, Travelhero, Orbitz, etc.

Air Tran via Atlanta $149
Continental/Continental via Houston $174
Continental/US Air via Houston $174 (this works because I can use USAir point on Mileageplus)

All flights get in just after 5pm on Friday. So is Air Tran reliable or should I spend extra to have a bigger airline and get about 1500 Star Alliance points?

Are any of these airlines horrible and should be avoided?

What other cheapies are out there, I already tried Jet Blue-no luck.

try round trip ticket prices anyways.. you can always NOT use the other 1/2 of the ticket..you might save some money that way.

I don't have any experience on the other airlines...sorry.

I'm named for my maternal g-mom as well; same first and middle name as her. If I ever have a daughter I'll probably name her for my mom, to start a tradition or whatever.

One of my best friends is a Melissa who goes by Lissa; she's one of the nicest people I know!
